Works Racing Motor Cycles Ltd. moves to all new premises.
Works Racing Motor Cycles Ltd., the renowned manufacturer of engines and spare parts for race and road-going Manx Nortons, has moved to an all-new purpose built premises.
Still Warwickshire based, the new facility is in a beautiful rural location between Rugby and Daventry, with easy access from junctions 16 or 18 of the M1.
The new workshop is considerably larger than the original and features a spacious machine shop that houses the company’s faithful Haas machining centre along with some manual machines. Significantly, there is now space to add a CNC lathe that in due course will allow the company to expand the range of parts that it makes in-house.
There is also a separate engine build area that has been built using cabinets and benching supplied by the locally based Dura Company. Dura’s British-built components are of the very highest quality and are used by many Formula 1 teams as well as several of the racing engine specialists that are located in the area. The new build area represents a considerable investment but allows Works Racing to make another step forwards in their quest to build the ultimate racing Norton engines.
Extra space will also be used to stock many more chassis parts and build complete racing bikes – something that previously only happened on a small scale. Works Racing customers will soon be able to order any part for their Manx and expect it to be available 'off the shelf'.
'This is a big step forward for the company. The new workshop will enable us to produce even better engines in a more professional environment' said Works Racing's Patrick Walker.
